Pre-primary

The educational project

There are four pre-primary classes: reception class (M0), year one (M1), year two (M2) and year three (M3).

M0: reception class

M0 welcomes pupils from 20. “M0” classes, approved by Kind&Gezin, are like little cocoons within the school. At the crossroads between nursery and pre-primary school, our youngest pupils are taught and nurtured by their teachers in two rooms, with tailored equipment. The teachers act as references for the children, as they accompany them as they accompany them throughout the day, during learning, break times, meals and naps. In this class, children are stimulated and thought at their own pace, while being appropriately nurtured.

The main aim of this year is to gain in independence: potty training, setting the table, putting on and closing jacket, putting belongings away, etc.

It is possible to join M0 during the school year.

From M1 to M3

The pre-primary school welcomes children aged between two and five into a bilingual environment. The learning is geared towards the children’s harmonious development, with group, individual and language sessions.

Pupils are encouraged to develop their independence with their teachers’ support and guidance. They explore the sensory world, language, graphics, maths, discovering the world, music and visual arts, according to various themes offered throughout the year.

ANA workshops

Natural Learning in Autonomy

Inspired by the Montessori method, these workshops take up a prominent place in our pupils’ school day. The activities encourage children to experiment and develop new skills on their own in various individual workshops that respond to their great thirst for learning.

The following learning areas are explored:

Group times:

During a school day, in addition to ANA activities, the children spend time in groups, listening to stories and developing vocabulary, singing songs, reciting nursery rhymes, etc.

The teachers introduce them to music and great composers, art and great painters, and take their pupils on a discovery of the world (geography, science).

A weekly motor skills class is also part of the programme.

Being attentive to each child

Upon enrolment at Agnes School, the school creates a partnership with parents to help children grow and thrive. This translates into day-to-day contact between the school and parents, and the organisation of meetings and training sessions on topics related to parenthood.

Uniform

Pre-primary pupils wear a coloured apron.

Each year group has a different apron colour:

  • M0: yellow
  • M1: red
  • M2: blue
  • M3: green
