Rules
Rules and practical information
The booklet on “Rules and practical information” forms an integral part of the pedagogical project of Agnes School. A child’s place at the school is dependent upon the parents accepting and adhering to the present rules. Parents are asked to sign at the beginning of the school year a document acknowledging they have read and adhere to the Rules and practical information.

Time schedule
The lessons and studies are spread over five days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and Wednesday from 8:30 to 12:15.
The hours spent on human education, religious instruction and catechetical masses are included in the schedule.
Extreme punctuality is required of everyone.
Recess and small breaks are, of course, part of the schedule.
It is very important that your child arrives at school on time in order to simply benefit from the proposed pedagogical method and in order not to distract the pupils already present in the classroom.
Opening hours of the school:
Start of the day
8:00 a.m. – classes start at 8:30 a.m.
End of the day
Classes finish at 3:45 p.m., paid after school care starts at 4:00 p.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m.
On Wednesday classes finish at 12:15, paid after school care starts at 12:30 and closes at 6:00 p.m.
Uniforms
Please refer to the “House rules” for a detailed overview.
Pupils are required to wear a clean uniform, and to wear it properly.
- all garments are to be labeled with their name (sewn in)
- pupils are not to get changed in the school or immediately around it (except for sports classes)
- girls wearing long hair are expected to keep it tied up during sport lessons
- pupils who are not wearing their full and proper uniform may not enter class. Parents will be notified.
The parents committee organises from time to time second-hand sales.
Most of the pieces can be purchased via the school.
In pre-primary, pupils wear an apron. It is color coded and can be purchased via the secretariat.
After-school care and study sessions
Keeping in mind that it is good for children to return home soon after the school day has finished, we nevertheless offer after-school supervision (for all pupils) and study (only for pupils of Primary classes) as part of our facilities. This is done to make life easier for parents who cannot match their work schedules with that of the school.
Opening hours of after-school care:
– Wednesday: start at 12:30 and closed at 6 p.m.
– All other days: start at 4 p.m. and closed at 6 p.m.
The children who have not been taken home at 4 p.m. (or 12:30 on Wednesday) are entrusted to the after-school care.

The after-school care has to be reserved and paid for quarterly in advance. Registration is done by day/week throughout the quarter. No cancellation is possible during the current quarter except for exceptional circumstances (health, moving, …) or substantial modification in the schedule and with the agreement of the Direction.
After-school care expenses are subject to a tax certificate.
Hot lunches
The school offers a service of hot lunches on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
You can register your child for the hot lunch-service or give your child sandwiches, a cold lunch or a warm lunch in a thermos. There is always water available for children. We recommend a gourd (or water bottle).
Please note that there is no lunch scheduled on Wednesday, even if your child stays for after-school club or nursery.
Once registered, it is not possible to change or cancel registration for hot meals. Cost of hot meals, after-school care and study/garderie are detailed in the notice fee 2018-2019 for the ongoing academic year. The fees for the next academic year 2019-2020 can be found here.
Hot lunches are ordered and are paid in advance. Registration is done by days/week throughout the quarter. No cancellation is possible other than due to exceptional circumstances (health, moving, …) or substantial modification in the schedule and with prior agreement of the Direction.
Provider – catering services
To meet the expectations of many families, Agnes School will change its “hot meal” provider starting September 2020. The new catering service will deliver daily seasonal products, originating mostly from Belgium (Wallonia). Most of its products are organic certified, 100% GMO/palm oil free. The supplier is committed to sustainable food and local agriculture.
